From the FRS 1000 and DPS 1000 operational solutions, to the BioHarness™ BT, Zephyr Technology's products provide communications methods that allow for interoperability, low cost, reliability and ease of deployment.
Zephyr Radio Interface Devices (RIDs)
Zephyr™'s FRS and DPS systems utilise Radio Interface Devices (RIDs) that provide a seamless connection between Zephyr™'s BioHarness™, and civilian un-encrypted, or military encrypted radios and military satellite.
Current designs of the FRS system are compatible with the Motorola XTS 1500, 2500 and 5000 radios, while the DPS system currently supports the Thales PRC148 MBITR radio. Support for other radio configurations is in progress.
Physical status information from the BioHarness™ is relayed via existing voice communication networks, back to a monitoring station where it is displayed on Zephyr™'s OmniSense™ software. While the BioHarness™ requires only a low power, short range transmission capability, the range of the FRS and DPS systems is limited only by the range of the radio network.
Critically. voice is given priority over the data, and the impact on radio battery life is minimal.
This approach also means that Zephyr™'s FRS and DPS solutions reduce cost, improve ease of deployment and address interoperability issues by utilising existing radio hardware. The FRS and DPS systems do not require a dedicated, proprietary communications solution in addition to what is already in use by many Defense and First Responder teams.
Bluetooth™ and Industrial, Scientific, Medical band (ISM)
Zephyr™ has also worked to ensure its research and integration products also support simple deployment, and interoperability. Across its rage of products, the company currently supports the ubiquitous Bluetooth™ protocol, as well as the unlicensed ISM frequency bands. Alongside these current protocols, Zephyr™ also has strong internal knowledge of other communications methods.
Bluetooth™ support by Zephyr™'s BioHarness™ and HxM products provide significant opportunities for integration partners via connectivity to mobile phones, and the Internet.
Zephyr™'s ISM products allow self contained, easily set-up, easily deployed, plug and play systems for customers anywhere in the world.
